Legal Writing and Drafting

The course is complete with comprehensive notes on topics relevant to legal writing, together with exercises and practice in the key areas to be covered during the course. It is designed to provide a framework for the conduct of approximately 20 hours of training on the subject of legal writing skills, as well as a reference (and self-test) material for use after it has ended. The course aims to provide a practical overview of the key areas of legal writing relevant to day-to-day legal practice. With this in mind, the following areas are covered:

2. Basic elements of legal writing
3. Principles of legal writing style
4. Differences between British and American English
5. Correspondence and memoranda
6. Contracts
